Barbara Sletto
MKMEA Honor Choir Conductor

Barbara is Founder and Artistic Director of the Heartland Youth Choir, serving over 300 central Iowa singers in seven ensembles. Under her direction, choirs have performed for national Kodály and Orff Conferences, regional MENC and ACDA divisional and state conferences.1
A specialist in treble voices, Barbara frequently serves as conductor for festivals, honor choirs, all-state choirs and choir camps.
Barbara completed her Masters of Arts in Music Education with a Kodály emphasis from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She has Orff and Dalcroze training, as well. Barbara is a frequent clinician and has taught Kodály certification courses in Mississippi and Iowa.
Barbara has fulfilled twelve commissioned works for treble choirs. Her compositions are published with Colla Voce, Hal Leonard and Alliance.
