Planting the Seeds of a Great Lesson with Transitions

This session features a 40-minute lesson plan that will incorporate several different kinds of transitions from one portion of the lesson to the next. Session attendees will be the “class” and will participate as such.
Bruce Swank has taught music from Kindergarten to college. He currently teaches K-1 music at the Kleptz Early Learning Center in Englewood, OH. He holds a Kodály Certificate and Diploma from the Kodály Center of America and studied at the Liszt Academy in Hungary.
Bruce has taught summer music courses for over twenty-five years and has presented at state music conferences, as well as MKMEA and OAKE conventions. He directs the Kettering Children’s Choir Chorale and the Northmont City School District Elementary Choir.
He recently retired as the Executive Secretary of MKMEA. His wife, Julie, is a professional horn player and Kodály educator. He is the proud father of college sophomore, Katherine and high school senior, Lauren.
