Dr. James Bowyer
Developing Musicianship Skills in the Choral Context

This engaging workshop will acquaint participants with the tools needed to develop fundamental musicianship skills within a choral context. Central tenets of the discussion are twofold: (1) how sightsinging instruction may be used to develop audiation, in-tune singing, musicality, and musicianship skills; and (2) how sightsinging, vocal warm-ups, and tuning exercises support the overall development of excellent vocal production and facilitate the learning of repertoire. Participants will receive a complimentary packet of choral music suitable for elementary, junior high, high school, and collegiate choral ensembles.
